Collection: Sauna Essential Oils

Sauna essential oils and aroma blends, including eucalyptus, peppermint and blends made for the sauna, to add scent to your löyly water.

How to use sauna essential oils

Sauna scents go in the water, not on the stones. Add a few drops to the sauna bucket, stir, then ladle the water onto the stones as usual. The scent rises with the steam.

Safety basics

  • Never pour undiluted oil straight onto the stones or heater. Neat oil can smoke or ignite on very hot surfaces.
  • Start with a few drops. You can always add more.
  • Use oils sold for sauna or bath use, and follow the label.
  • Some scents are strong in a small hot room. Check with others before you add them.

Popular sauna scents

  • Eucalyptus: the classic fresh sauna scent.
  • Peppermint: cool and sharp.
  • Sauna blends: mixes such as forest, birch or berry scents made for the sauna.
