Collection: Wood-Fired Saunas

Shop wood-fired saunas: tent saunas built around a wood stove, from compact 2-person cubes to an 8-person dome, an outdoor cabin with a wood-burner option, and the wood-burning stoves themselves.

Why choose a wood-burning sauna

A wood-fired sauna needs no electrical service. You light the stove, heat the stones, and throw water for steam the way it has been done in Finland for generations. That makes a wood burning sauna a good fit for cabins, lake lots and campsites where there is no 240V supply. The trade-off is time and attention: you tend the fire, keep a supply of dry wood, and need a chimney and safe clearances.

Tent saunas

Tent saunas pack down for travel and set up anywhere you can safely run a stove. The Nova 4 packs to 54 in long and weighs 42 lb. The Dome is 9.5 ft across with two chimney ports, so it can run one or two stoves. The Starter packages include the stove, chimney, rock basket, sauna stones and a rain cover. Higher tiers add benches, a bucket and ladle, and a thermometer-hygrometer. Tent-only listings suit buyers who already own a compatible stove. Browse all tent saunas.

Wood-burning sauna stoves

The stoves sold here are designed for tent saunas. The Mini tent stove weighs 33 lb, takes 14 in firewood and comes with 80 mm chimney sections. The stainless tent stove includes six 3.5 in chimney sections. The XL stove weighs about 80 lb and comes with six 4 in chimney sections. Match the chimney size to your tent's port. Safety basics

Follow each stove's clearance guidance, use a fireproof mat under tent stoves, and never leave a fire unattended. Burn dry, seasoned wood and keep a bucket of water nearby. For hotter, steamier rounds, read our Finnish sauna guide and how hot is a sauna. If you would rather plug in, see traditional saunas with electric heaters. Most orders ship within 1–4 business days.

Wood-Fired Saunas FAQ

What is a wood-fired sauna?
A sauna heated by a wood-burning stove instead of an electric heater or infrared panels. The stove heats a load of stones, and you throw water on them for steam.
How long does a wood-fired tent sauna take to heat up?
The listings give about 15 minutes to 200°F for the Mini Cube, about 30 minutes for the Nova 4 and Nova 6, and 30 to 45 minutes for the Dome. Outside temperature and wind change this.
Do wood burning saunas need electricity?
No. The heat comes from the fire. You need a chimney, safe clearances and a supply of dry firewood.
Can I buy a sauna tent without a stove?
Yes. Each tent is sold as a tent-only listing as well as in packages that include a stove, stones and a rock basket.
