How to choose a 2 person infrared sauna

Two-person cabins are the most common home infrared sauna size, and the widest choice we carry. They fit two adults side by side, or one person with room to spread out. Most models here are about 39 to 48 in (1 to 1.2 m) wide and 36 to 47 in (0.9 to 1.2 m) deep.

Power: 15 amp or 20 amp?

Sixteen listings state a 120V supply, with heater loads from about 1,520 to 2,310 watts. The amp rating is the detail to check:

ExampleSupplyLoad
Medical 4 full spectrum120V / 15 A1,700 W
Hemlock double with glass doors120V / 15 A1,780 W
Blisspod Malmo120V / 20 A1,800 W
Blisspod Venetian RED120V / 20 A2,310 W

A 20-amp model needs a 20-amp circuit. Have an electrician confirm what you have before ordering.

Far infrared or full spectrum

All 34 use far-infrared heating. Eleven are full spectrum, adding near- and mid-infrared emitters, and 13 mention a red light panel. Low EMF heaters are listed on 18. Compare the full range in full spectrum infrared saunas.

Temperature

Healthline puts typical infrared sauna temperatures at 120 to 140°F (49 to 60°C). Listings here include ranges of 77 to 149°F (25 to 65°C). The Blisspod models go to 140°F, and several red cedar and hemlock models reach 158°F.

Wood

Hemlock is named in 25 of the 34. Red cedar appears in 5, and one outdoor model uses old fir. Hemlock is pale with little smell. Cedar is darker and aromatic, and costs more here: the red cedar two-person models run $2,596 to $4,099. See hemlock saunas and cedar saunas.

Indoor or outdoor

Most two-person cabins are indoor units. A few are built for outdoor use with weatherproof roofs, including an old fir model at $2,652 and a solid wood outdoor cabin at $2,845. For more, browse outdoor infrared saunas.

Setup

Most cabins assemble from wall panels that clip or bolt together. The Blisspod two-person models ship in 2 to 5 boxes on a pallet. Large cabins ship freight, so plan a clear path and two people for unloading. Need more seats? See 3 and 4 person infrared saunas.
