How to choose a 2 person sauna
Two-person saunas are the most popular home size. They fit two adults side by side, or one person with room to spread out. The main decision is the heat source, then indoor or outdoor.
| Type | Example | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Wood-fired tent | Mini Cube, 1–2 people, Starter package | $1,352.97 |
| Infrared cabin, indoor | One-two person far infrared cabin | $1,674.95 |
| Infrared cabin, outdoor | Two person old fir outdoor cabin | $2,651.95 |
| Full spectrum infrared | Medical 4 | $5,199 |
| Traditional, indoor | Traditional 6, 4,500 W | $9,199 |
| Hybrid, outdoor | Golden Designs Nora | $14,999 |
Infrared
Most two-person cabins here are infrared. Many plug into a 120V circuit, but some need 20 amps, so check the listing and your panel. Choose between far infrared and full spectrum, and hemlock or red cedar. For the infrared-only range, see 2 person infrared saunas and our 2 person infrared sauna guide.
Traditional
A traditional sauna uses a heater and stones, and you can throw water for steam. The Traditional 6 is rated for two people with a 4,500 W heater and measures 64 in by 48 in by 78 in. Outdoor options include the Blisspod Prague barrel in its 2–4 person size and Thermasol cabins rated from two people. Electric traditional heaters usually need a dedicated 240V circuit. Wood-fired
The Mini Cube tent is rated for one to two people. It measures 5 ft by 5 ft by 5.5 ft, weighs about 30 lb, and the listing gives about 15 minutes to reach 200°F with its wood stove. See wood-fired saunas.
Size and placement
Many indoor two-person cabins are about 4 ft (1.2 m) wide. Leave room for the door to swing and for air around the cabin. Outdoor units need a level base. Large cabins ship freight, so plan two people for unloading. Most orders ship within 1–4 business days. Need more room? See 4 person saunas. Not sure about running costs?
