3 & 4 Person Infrared Saunas

Compare three- and four-person infrared saunas from $2,534 to $16,999. Most run on 120V at 20 amps, and the range includes full-spectrum cabins, outdoor-rated rooms and an indoor-outdoor hybrid.

Choosing a 3 or 4 person infrared sauna

A larger infrared cabin suits a couple who want to stretch out, or a family that sits together. The trade-off is power and floor space. These cabins draw more current and need about 5 ft (1.5 m) of wall, so measure first.

Power and circuits

Six of the 10 state 120V. Most of those want a 20-amp circuit, two specify a dedicated circuit, and one calls for a non-GFCI receptacle. One Blisspod model needs 220V. A 3,000 W-class cabin on a shared 15-amp kitchen or bedroom circuit will trip breakers. Check the product page and have an electrician confirm your panel.

Heater type

Nine of the 10 use far infrared. Six are full spectrum, adding near- and mid-infrared. The top-priced model, Golden Designs Visby ($16,999), is a hybrid that combines infrared with a traditional sauna setup and is rated for indoor or outdoor use. Healthline puts typical infrared sauna temperatures at 120 to 140°F (49 to 60°C). The Lugano listing gives a usual range of 118 to 132°F with a 140°F maximum. See the wider range in full spectrum infrared saunas.

Indoor or outdoor

Four models are built for outdoor use: two four-person far-infrared outdoor rooms ($3,112 and $3,283), a four-person outdoor sauna at $5,919 measuring 83 in (2.1 m) wide, and the Visby hybrid. The rest are indoor cabins. Browse outdoor infrared saunas for all weather-rated infrared models.

Wood

Hemlock is named in 7 of the 10. One model uses red cedar, and two outdoor rooms use old fir. For six or more people, or for steam, look at traditional outdoor saunas and indoor saunas. If two seats are enough, 2 person infrared saunas start at $1,675.
